Storage

In planning our move, Thomas and I debated back and forth about how to store our things. We were hoping initially to keep our big furniture in the house and rent it like that but our property manager said most people prefer the house empty. The next idea was to buy a storage house- we surely had enough room in the back, but putting it together would take two men at least 12 hours (the review said they weren’t kidding) and how to access it when we come back while the tenants are still there…

So we ended up renting a 7.5 by 10 ft storage room. Thomas did a great job selling a lot of things on Craigslist. It went really fast too. It was a little sad to say goodbye to some of the items-such memories attached. (thanks Annamarie and Yvette for your packing help!)

Anyway, through out the move, Thomas kept saying “Put it in the storage, it’ll fit!” I kept saying, “Are you kidding? There’s no space!” Here is what our storage room looked like at the end. Kudos for Thomas and his Tetris skills. We fit our 2 piece sectional couch, king mattress and box springs, 4 kitchen chairs, Anton’s kid bed, about 3-4 tables, electic piano, large picture frames, boxes of toys, clothes, kitchen stuff, etc. But don’t move anything or else…
