So, British wants to charge $60 per head to assign seats in advance, even though we are travelling with a 2-year old and 4-year old child. If you don’t pay, then you can book any leftover seat 24h before booking. This may work for adults, but what about little kids? So, the 2-year-old and 4-year-old can sit for 12 hours between strangers on an airplane? Well, I called British, and they said that 5 days before the flight, they will assign seats to under 12-year olds near their accompanying adult, but unfortunately in our booking it does not have the code CHD (even though the passenger age is recorded), and so they will not assign seats in our case. So, I asked whether they can add the CHD label, unfortunately she cannot. Really? Flying has become ridiculous.
