This Sunday, the children of Präz walked through town with their lanterns. It started off with Annina telling a story about empathy and sharing in the Präzer church to all children (about 20 from the village) as they gathered on the floor in front of the cozy church floor. She involved the children into the story (French knight who came into town on a cold winter’s night and noticed a poor man with inadequate clothing, then shared the clothing, left knighthood and became a helper) and it was quite interesting to hear about what the children thought the meaning of the story was (helping your grand parents carry their groceries, use the light to show someone the way, sharing, etc). Then, Annina lit a lantern for each idea from each child. At the end, everyone was singing a song and the processing through the village started. Anton and Lukas also carried proudly their lanterns. It was quite heavy for Lukas, but he would not give up and carry it all the way to the end, where we were surprised with bread (that we shared) and hot apple cider.

At the end of the march, the kids were given bread and hot apple cider at the school house yard, overlooking the moon-illuminated valley.
