Hiking above Hollywood

When hiking to the sign in Griffiths park, the hike was wonderful. According to the Griffiths hiking trail map, it was “moderate / difficult”.  You would have to go down to Lake Hollywood to see the Hollywood sign, because at the end of the hike you can only see the letters from behind as the sign itself is fenced off. However, you get to see the city really well. We heard some youngsters telling others that they just climbed down a steep path and were able to climb the Hollywood sign passed the “no entry” signs.

Free parking is possible on Lake Hollywood Blvd, you can see the parking from 3521 Wonder View Dr, Los Angeles, CA.

For good photos, you would have to make the hike in the evening as the sun appears right above the L.A. skyline in the morning hours. We started our hike around 10am in the morning, still it was quite warm, even in February.

From the ridge you have a good perspective onto Burbank as well.
