Almost 15 years ago, this was our first time snorkeling and seeing the water underworld. So impressive!  This time, our family grown, we went snorkeling in the same place with Lukas and Anton in Haad Salad and near Ko Ma. We saw several schools of big tropical fish, all colors, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, corals, anemons and more. Very beautiful; it’s hard to take photos of such an experience – apart from not having a water-resistant camera – and capture the emotions as you float above the coral reef in the warm ocean water and gaze down below the surface. The water is amazingly clear and life so diverse. Fish hiding behind rocks and just frolicking in small schools, eating on the ocean floor. Staring down into the colorful mouth of sea urchins and admiring the tall pillars of corals that were built under the water. Exhilarating!

Anton is really good at snorkeling and we were able to go for long periods of time and explore far off and deep places. With Lukas we stay in the shallow water earlier in the morning; he is delighted to see all the fish and just to snorkel in the water.
