We live close to Hồ Ngọc Khanh. It’s a nice walk past the zoo along the shores of a little lake and then passing through back alleys and the lake appears. Along the shores there are lots of coffee shops – at least a dozen or so. Many people walk the perimeter of the lake. Last night we walked to the lake, watched people play shoe badminton, then on the way home we had xôi and ice tea at the lake, watched people in suits(!) fishing, and đôi uyên ương parking their xe máy on the shores in the evening gloom. Kids got to run around; it’s the part of Hanoi which is very enjoyable.
